The legal recruiting process may be getting faster, but faster doesn't always mean better.
At AJW Attorney Search, we believe attorneys deserve more than a keyword match, an automated ranking, or a generic LinkedIn message.
Our approach is personal. We pick up the phone and have real conversations with attorneys about:
Why they are considering a move. What they want more or less of in their next role. Their concerns about workload, culture, compensation, flexibility, and career growth. The type of practice and environment where they can genuinely succeed.
We also personally review each candidate’s background and experience. We don't rely on automated searches alone to decide who may be a strong fit.
A career move is not simply a data matching exercise. An automated system may overlook transferable experience, a nontraditional career path, a discreet job search, or the personal priorities that determine whether a position is truly right for someone.
The research supports the importance of human involvement. A survey of 12,000 candidates across seven countries found that 81% considered having a human point of contact during the hiring process vitally important.
Additionally, a University of Washington study involving 528 participants found that when people were shown biased AI recommendations during resume screening, they followed those recommendations up to 90% of the time. Human review only adds value when people are genuinely evaluating the information, not simply approving a machine’s recommendation.
At AJW Search, we utilize technology to assist with research and organization, but it doesn't replace discernment, communication, confidentiality, or empathy.
Attorneys are people, not profiles or search results.
If you are considering a career move, you deserve a recruiter who will listen before making a recommendation. That is the difference a human conversation can make.
